Conditioned Crawlspace

A Conditioned Crawlspace is a place where the foundation walls have been insulated and sealed, the ground has been covered with a reinforced liner membrane, and the air flow in the crawlspace has been conditioned by air supply from the structure's HVAC system to ensure that the crawlspace maintains a constant humidity level to avoid wood decay and fungal growth.

Traditional Crawlspace

The most common type of crawlspace insulation is traditional crawlspace insulation. It includes batt insulation between the crawlspace joists and a poly vapor barrier on the ground to keep moisture to a minimum in the crawlspace.

French Drain Crawlspace

A Conditioned Crawlspace with a drain tile installed in the ground around the perimeter of the foundation wall on the inside of the crawlspace allows ground water to drain into a sump pump, which allows the water to be pumped outside the crawlspace, keeping the ground inside the crawlspace dry.

Spray Foam Insulation (SFI)

Spray foam insulation is the most rapidly growing type of insulation application in new construction to date, providing a zero air penetration thermal barrier in any area where it is used.

Fiberglass Batt Insulation

Batt insulation is the most commonly used insulation to provide a thermal barrier in walls, ceilings, and floors. It is formed into a mat and installed with staples, pins, or by laying it in between attic joists.

Blow-In Insulation

Blown wool is used in attics and walls to provide a thermal barrier by blowing loose fiber into the wall, attic floors, and cavities.
